Voting Members (Delegates)
Any group that represents residents within the Federation's boundaries including; residents' associations, ratepayers' associations, community associations, housing co-operatives and tenants' associations that are aligned with FoSTRA's mission, mandate and objectives.
By December 31, 2024 for 2025 membership, an annual fee of $35. is payable for one Voting Membership.
With one Primary and two Secondary representatives per organization to participate; at meetings, there will be only one vote per membership Association; Organization representatives must reside in the neighbourhood they represent

Friends of FoSTRA (Non-Voting Membership)
Is available to any of the following community representatives that support FoSTRA's goals;
- Interested individuals from an area not covered by a residents organization
- Resident associations outside of FoSTRA's boundaries
- Businesses or business improvement areas (BIA's)
- Other local interest/community groups
- Local politicians from whatever party affiliation
- Local city officials

Mission:
The Federation of South Toronto Residents’ Associations (FoSTRA) is a public policy coalition that aims to have influence at all levels of government—municipal, provincial, and federal—by creating an open, informed, and transparent forum for collective community consultations on proposed planning and policy action.
Mandate:
FoSTRA is a non-partisan federation of south Toronto residents’ associations that collaborates to:
- help influence the creation of policies at all levels of government,
- preserve and enhance our quality of life for Torontonians
- promote neighborhood identity and vitality, and
- ensure responsible and respectful development within its boundaries.
- Ensure that property development is responsible, respectful of community identity and aligned with long-term planning objectives.
- Ensure that infrastructure (transit, services, parks, playgrounds, schools and maintenance) supports population growth.
- Advocate for heritage preservation and the development of programs/facilities (cultural, artistic and historical) so essential to the enjoyment of living in Toronto.
- Foster safe, diverse, inclusive and welcoming communities.
- Preserve and foster environmental initiatives that will ensure good stewardship of our natural resources and promote programs/legislation so that society’s consumption/output is dealt with in a responsible and sustainable manner.
- Advocate for democratic self-determination of municipal planning processes, free from provincial and/or federal interference.
- Share & leverage “Best Practices” with members and act as a resource.
- Collaborate with local businesses, BIA’s and other stakeholders when interests are aligned.
