FoSTRA LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

FoSTRA acknowledges that South Toronto has been the site of human activity for at least 15,000 years. It is the traditional territory of many nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and Wendat peoples. We acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13, signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.

Today, Tkaronto continues to be home to many indigenous people from across Turtle Island. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work on this territory. We are also mindful of broken covenants and the need to strive to make things right. As a treaty people, we commit to listen, learn, and work towards justice and reconciliation.
